&& she's got the world on a string...
Her wispy blonde hair was mussed into knotted tufts of chaos that morning as Savannah woke to another lazy Sunday in Harper Valley. She wore a pair of little blue and white shorts with a white tank top. Her feet were bare and she let out a tiny gasp as they touched the cold hardwood floor that morning. It had to be past ten and she wondered if Alex had a morning shift at the diner or not. She sighed and let the cold envelope her feet as she dragged her lazy butt out of bed.
She walked over to the mirror and took one look at her appearance. She couldn't help but laugh as her sparkling blue eyes looked more alive and energetic than she felt by far. "Morning beautiful." She murmured litghly to herself. Savannah felt magic that morning, she was dripping in confidence that only she could pull off with flair. She pulled her stray strands of hair into her delicate hands and messed with them while striking super model poses. Could Sav help it if she was thouroughly proud of her appearance? Maybe that was self-absorbed or conceited but, Savannah didn't obsess over herself which was what mattered.
She smiled and let her hair fall back down. She didn't even bother with changing, she just opened her door and slipped down the hall. She made her way to the kitchen and found Lizzy on the way. She absent-mindedly ran her hand over the big yellow labs lofty ears. "Morning sweetie." She let her smile challenge growth as that random contentment over-whelmed her. Maybe it was stupid Matt trying to kill her but, Sav had come to love life with a certain beauty only she could really make out. She couldn't explain that to anyone though. Except maybe Charlie. No one else understood the things Matt had done. Savannah was keeping them as her darkest secrets.
She strolled over to the refrigerator and took out a carton of milk. Her eyes scanned the expiration date to make sure it was still ok. It was but, she went ahead and sniffed it just in case. She and Alex had a bad habit of leaving food in the fridge longer than it should. She then made her way to the cabinet where she pulled out a lime green soup bowl. Her hands reached for a drawer and she grabbed a soup spoon with a dark blue plastic handle. Her next stop was at the cabinet containing the Honey Cheerios. She snagged the box and helped herself to a wonderous breakfast of cereal.
After two bites, Savannah sighed and ran a hand through her messy blonde hair. She looked a bright and sunshiney mess but, she loved it. She tapped her feet to the floor beneath the counter to music no one else could hear. Savannah wondered if any friends were around that day. Maybe she could catch Holly or Jackie or Charlie. It made her smile, having friends. She almost missed hanging out with Matt but, she'd never be with him again. It was too awful, all that he'd done. She wished she didn't have to hide it form Alex though. That made her feel bad, it felt like lying.
