&& she dances beneath the moonlight...Her dress was red. Her eyes were sore. Her feet were dirty. The river's flow was loud in the windy night. Charlie Haleck was lost in her own life and she didn't know why... It had to have been past midnight when Charlie decided to leave the party. Her step-brother had come up to Harper Valley for a party. The oddest part, it was a formal party. His date had bailed at the last minute and since Charlie had already lived there, her dad called her and politely asked if she'd go with Eddie. When Charlie had politely responded with a firm no, he politely bribed her with rent money for a year. She couldn't turn that up what with the diner running so slow. She felt bad yet, he did owe her on some level. She wanted him to care, not give her money. The money did come in handy without him caring those days though. She'd told Eddie she'd only be staying until midnight and he'd listened. He didn't exactly want her there either. He hated the fact that she didn't have a very feminine name. He also hated that she was so different. He'd expected her to be some little goldie locks porcelin doll of a girl from day one. She'd crushed that hope on him. So, Charlie had split. Where was she now? She'd wandered down from her apartment with Kallie to the beach. She knew another hour out wouldn't kill her or anything. Maybe she'd run into Alex. Or, maybe she'd run into Matthew Fayde. See, in the back of Charlie's mind, she'd wanted to run into Matthew Fayde on her own one day. She wanted to give him the scare of his life. She could have him shaking in his boots in a heartbeat. After what he'd done to Savannah, she wanted him as far away from Harper as possible. Her dress was wrinkled and she decided it wasn't worth saving at that point. She sat herself down on the semi-damp sand in the moonlight and listened to the sound of the water moving in the night. Her shoes were left up the path in her car. She could only hope she'd not step on a stray piece of broken glass. Just down the beach was where they'd usually held their summer bon-fire/beach parties. Charlie loved those. Now wasn't a time for beach parties though. She was still a little shaken by Eddie's parting words. Just before she'd left the party, he'd whispered in her ear something along the lines of, stay away from my family, they never wanted you to begin with. Charlie was not particularly fond of Eddie. Her head hurt from the poor conversation and stuffy business people who'd had their retreat party in Harper Valley. Worse yet? Charlie had to work lunch at the diner and those stuffy business men would most likely be stopping in during their tourist shopping. It annoyed her beyond belief. Hopefully, Eddie wouldn't be coming by. She ran her hands through her hair after she'd pulled out Kallie's well-placed pins. Her eyes felt so sore from attempting a look of interest in topics she most certainly was not interested in. Her brain was still trying to figure out why anyone would possibly be so interested in stocks and shares. It bored her to death. She'd tried to throw in something about the latest indie band she'd heard on the underground internet community, but was instantly hushed and asked to go get a drihnk by Eddie. If only a friend were there now, Charlie could actually use a drink just to chill out. She wished she could bring things back down to a mellow state. It was pathetic, but Charlie was used to it. She was so tired of dealing with the family that didn't even want her. Yeah, good friends, a beach, and a drink. Charlie missed her friends. only my summer
Basics: Full Name:Amelia Alexandria Wood Nickname:Mia, Mel Age:17 Birthday:December 3rd Grade:Senior/12th Occupation:Waitress at Dina's Diner Martial Status:Single Orientation:Straight
Personality: General Description: How to describe myself? Well, I'm the girl who goes unnoticed in the crowd. I'm no beauty like both of my mothers were, but if you look really close, you might surprise yourself. I guess I'm confident in myself. I'm realistic and I get how people tick. I love life and offer my help to anyone in need of it. I challenge every second I've been given on this planet with something of higher depth. I stand out in personality for those who dig deep enough to notice. I'm slightly introverted and keep to myself more often than I jump into conversation. I'm seen as a geek when I'm just shy. I'm seen as immature when I'm taking care of my two teenage sisters and trying to live on my own. I take everything to this level of questioning that many would question in itself. I mix words in ways no one would expect. I don't fit into the greater puzzle that my pieces fight to fit. I am creative and intelligent and wise and realistic. I have the guts to do the things few would attempt. I hate taking risks, but when placed in an emergency, I know best. I am me and never try to be anything else. I love myself without getting thingyy about it. I am Mia Wood and I will never be anything else.

Siblings: [♥]Holly Wood-16 [♥]Willow Wood-14 Pets: [x]None Cousins: [x]Unknown Other Relatives: [x]Unknown Birthplace: Harper Valley, California History Bio: I'm about 99.9% sure you've never met me. Perhaps you know of my sisters, Holly and Willow. Maybe you've even heard of my parents. Me though, no. The name Mia Wood has yet to cross your path. Key word being yet. Why you ask? Because, it will.
I was born right here in Harper Valley. My mother, Amelia Wood the first, died just after giving birth to me. I'd say my dad was torn up about it, but I don't really know. See, he met Elizabeth a month after mom's death and they hit it off so well that they had my little sister Holly. Just after Holly came Willow and I can't exactly say anything bad about Lizzy. See, Liz always let me call her mom. She never treated me like a step-daughter, but always counted me as one of her own. She had a really good heart and I believe that she changed my father into a good person too.
All growing up, my father was the corporate stereo-type. He was the business man who was only in anything to con others out of it. I knew this because he was never around until just after Willow was born. When Will came into the picture, Lizzy freaked out on Keith and told him he had to start being there. He did.
My youth was scattered with this amazing mix of culture. My father was this big time business man and brought in enough cash to take us on trips around the world. Mom was a fashion designer who did her work from home. This is where my dream to be like her came from. People always thought it was strange when I told them that Lizzy was really just my step-mom. They always told me that I looked like her, acted like her, was a smaller version of her. The only thing I inherited from my biological mother was my big brown eyes and those seemed odd.
Growing up, we pretty much got the things we wanted. Lizzy taught us not to be spoiled though. We were thankful for every single moment offered and we often times went out to do charity work with Liz because she wanted us to be decent girls. She also wanted us to learn hard work. She made us get jobs when we were old enough so that we would learn the value of the dollar and respect that.
I don't think many people realize the things that Elizabeth instilled in us from a young age. She taught us every moral lesson and was there for us. She was the light that shined through no matter what happened in life. Last year, at her funeral, people came from around the world to respect her memorial. There's a different story though.
Let's flip back to last year. I was sixteen and Holly was fifteen and Willow was thirteen. Our parents had to go on a trip to Paris without us for business. I was in charge of watching after the girls since I was the oldest and most responsible. It was on their way back that they got into a fluke airplane accident. It was a rare and horrible event. It went down into the Atlantic Ocean and we never saw our parents again.
At the service, several people from different parts of the world came to say goodbye. My parents were highly influential people and so many spoke of my mother's kindness and my father's changing ways after he met her. Elizabeth Wood was a name few would ever forget. It's proof in the tears that were cried.
Here I am now though. I'm sort of an outcast at school and I'm busy playing caretaker/guardian at home. It's hard looking out for Holly and Willow sometimes just because they can get into some trouble. Our parents left us loads of money in their will and it seems the world is our playground. What will happen next?
